Many Syrian refugees are
facing a new threat : Disease
150 Syrians are living in makeshift camps
in Bekaa Valley for 4 months
There are only two toilets
– that empty directly into an
irrigation ditch for a potato field
Children bathe in the same ditch,
most of them have diarrhea for months
Sweltering heat and insects growth
are worsening the conditions
Aid agencies are helping by :
– installing underground tanks
to collect sewage
– chlorinating the water supply
